December 2019 — February 2020

curated by Studio Gardella

The exhibition aims to showcase the educational and professional background of two generations of architects, engineers and designers – Ignazio (1905-1999) and Jacopo (1935). Paper and graphic records available at the Gardella Foundation, the family library and correspondence, as well as documents kept at the Communications Archive of the University of Parma, will enable us to outline a professional tradition and a cultural heritage that have been handed down for a century. Elements which – thanks to a new and original research perspective – can help cast light on the architectural and design (the latter element is, as yet, relatively unknown) body of work produced by the two creators of the PAC di Milano.

The winter exhibition season will celebrate the great Italian masters of architecture and design, placing their work in connection with the PAC as an exemplary monument to our Modernism.
